MilO compared with TripLog, MileIQ, Driversnote and Everlance
TripLog, MileIQ, Driversnote and Everlance are established mileage services: an account, your trips in their cloud, apps for iPhone and Android, and paid plans with support behind them. MilO is a one-person project with a narrower aim: a free Android app that starts a trip when your phone connects to your work vehicle, and keeps your trips on your phone.
From each company's own website on 8 October 2026. Plans and prices change, so check their pricing pages before you choose. Something out of date? Say so on GitHub.

MilO fits if
- You drive one work vehicle that connects to your Android phone by Bluetooth.
- You want every trip logged without paying, and without a limit on trips.
- You would rather not have an account, and want your trips on your phone, not in a company's cloud.
- You are fine installing an app from GitHub, and doing without support.
Another app fits better if
- You have an iPhone, or want a web dashboard.
- You drive several vehicles, or your company reimburses a team.
- You also want expenses, receipts, or help with taxes.
- Your accountant needs each trip's purpose in the log: MilO's report has no such column.
- You want an app from the Play Store, with a company and support behind it.
MilO and TripLog
TripLog is the closest of the four: it can also start a trip on your car's Bluetooth (once you pass 8 km/h), and it sorts trips by work hours. Its free Basic plan tracks without limit and limits reports; Premium adds the web app, more reports and integrations. MilO keeps it simpler and free, without an account. triplog.net
MilO and MileIQ
MileIQ detects drives from the phone's motion and asks you to swipe each one as Business or Personal, or sorts them by work hours. Its free plan covers 40 drives a month. It uses your car's Bluetooth to tell which vehicle you are in, not to start a drive. mileiq.com
MilO and Driversnote
Driversnote tracks by the phone's motion, or by its own iBeacon placed in the car, and has a Canadian site with a CRA logbook and prices in Canadian dollars. Its free plan reports up to 15 trips a month. driversnote.com
MilO and Everlance
Everlance is mileage plus expense and income tracking, with bank sync and tax help on its top plan. It detects trips from the phone's motion and GPS; its free plan covers 30 automatic trips a month. everlance.com
